And the man became a living soul. The description of man as a soul is repeated in the saving of Noah’s family from the flood. Is man both a soul and does he have a soul? Are they mutually exclusive?

For Christians, the question has been answered by many to assure of immediate transition to Heaven. However, examination of Holy Bible verses related to the subject does not, to me, provide a definitive answer. Most verses seem to state a wish that it would be true.
