Our 1956 Butler graduating class 53rd graduation anniversary celebration consisted of a picnic at Tate Farms on May 16, 2009 from 2 pm to 6 pm. Catering was again done by Mullins Restaurant with plenty of good food. As during the last picnic during the 50th year celebration, we were interrupted by a thunder storm and rain, but spirits weren't dampened - we just moved inside, slightly damp, and continued with the fun. The organizers did an outstanding job and it was rewarded with an excellent turnout of participants. Pictures can be viewed at this LINK.
Our 1956 Butler graduating class 50th graduation anniversary was held June 2-4, 2006. Friday was a picnic at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens - 1:00-6:00 p.m. Mullins catered barbeque, and all were entitled to a tour that was included in the lease fee. Saturday night, a banquet and dance were held at the Huntsville Country Club - 6:00-11:00 p.m. Dance music was provided by the Charlie Lyle Band - the same band we had 50 years ago. On Sunday, the 4th, there was a Dutch treat breakfast at Mullins, price discounted by Larry. A lot of fun and fellowship was experienced. Those who organized and directed the events did a very commendable, outstanding job. Not even a rainstorm, lightening, and thunder during the picnic could dampen the fun and spirit of the event. I believe it even helped give the event a more intimate and cozy atmosphere. Pictures can be viewed at this LINK.
The 1956 graduating class of Butler held its 45th anniversary reunion on June 16, 2001, at Ditto Landing. The organizers did an outstanding job in selection of a site and other preparations. The food was good (there was plenty of it), and so was the music (Who said old people can't dance?). Pictures can be viewed at this LINK.
A group of classmates ("56 Bunch") has met for several years at 3-month intervals at Mullins Restaurant, Andrew Jackson Way. The scheduled months are January, April, July, and October. The meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Many enjoyable socials have been spent remembering a very unique period of experience in our lives. This is a great way to "keep in touch" and learn where our classmates have been, what they have done, and are now doing. You also learn that you are not alone in your "ailments," and are reminded of people forgotten about, or that you were barely aware of, but who were very much aware of you and interested in you and what you were and what you have been doing since those "glorious years." Perspectives of the past can be altered in a very pleasant and surprising way. Since the socials/meetings started, several classmates have passed on, including some of those who had been faithful attendees of the meetings.

However, some members may be missing from these lists. Addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and other important information is also missing for most of the other members.
